This is an interesting Ottoman era 3 faces stamp dated 1311 AH ( 1893 CE)

There is a clear date written in Arabic on 1 face. The second one looks like انشاءالله

But I couldn't figure out the third word.

This is a document written in old Turkish. The document was originally folded and sealed. I couldn't figure out what type of document this is. It could be a legal document or a personal ones.  The letter is written in Riqaah script in black. It was signed and dated 1267 AH ( 1851 CE). There is a watermark "Al Masso". According to my research, the paper is from Italian paper mill belongs to Marcos Antonio Portugal operating from 1762 to 1830 CE.

I don't have much information of this kind of manuscript and its writing tradition. I need to do more research on this manuscript and will update this entry later. I welcome any feedback on this letter.

Ancient Artifact Review 106 : Antique Ottoman Sufi Plate dated 1290 AH ( 1873 CE)

 

This is a large plate with Arabic calligraphy dated 1290 AH ( 1873 CE)

The arabic calligraphy is Thuluth style and with mirror image of لا اله الا هو ( There is no God except HIM). Also with date 1290 AH.

The calligraphy and the rim pattern were executed in a brown pigment with yellow base.

Ancient Artifact Review 77 : Antique Ottoman Coffee Grinder (19th Century)

This is an old coffee hand grinder from Ottoman era. The body is made of brass and there are some stamps and mill mark on the body. I couldn't decipher the mill name. However a number 4 is very obvious.
The handle is stored inside upper compartment.
Bought from Istanbul and estimated from 19th Century.

Almost 70% of the content filled with beautiful colorful pictures of calligraphy & illumination works of Ottoman calligraphers. Useful book for my reference. I purchased this book in Istanbul in 2010 for TL150.

Ancient Artifact Review 64 : Antique Ottoman Qalamdan / Pen Case / Inkwell ( Divit) dated 1950 CE

This is an old Ottoman Qalamdan / Divit or Pen case which measures  8" long with an inkwell at one end. It is beautifully decorated with floral motives. Made of brass and dated. Even though the date is not clear but I could say its 1950 CE based on similar Qalamdan which I have.

This is a wooden Quran stand made of wood. Interestingly this stand is foldable from 4 pieces which were cut from 1 piece.

Ancient Manuscript Review 180 : Antique Ottoman Quran with Tajwid Notes 1292 AH ( 1875 C.E )

This is an Ottoman Quran acquired from Istanbul a few years ago. It is incomplete as the first few pages are missing. Many of the pages are torn along the gold frame due to the copper reaction with the paper. The Quran dated 1292 AH on the inner cover which is equivalent to 1875 CE. I purchased this Quran due to its being different than other Ottoman Qurans. This particular Quran has notes on the rules of reading Quran ( Tajwid) on the margin on every page. Ancient Artifact Review 61 : Antique Ottoman Copper Plate dated 1175 AH ( 1758CE)

This is an old Ottoman Copper plate purchased from Turkey. It is a plain plate with a date and signature on the rim.Made of  copper but plated with tin and dated 1175 AH or equivalent to 1758 CE. There is a name engraved in Arabic, ثر عبيد خليل  , Seer Abid Khalil. He could have been the owner of this plate.
