Review :

This is a thick book measuring 12" x 10" x 1.75" as well as one of the most important books for those who wants to dig further the art history of calligraphy and illumination. This book is written entirely in Turkish language and compiled of more than 30 articles and research papers written by Turkish experts. The book is divided into 2 parts. The first part details on the history of Arabic calligraphy and its evolution especially in hte Ottoman world. The second part of this book covers extensively on the art of illumination. . Almost 70% of the content filled with beautiful colorful pictures of calligraphy & illumination works of Ottoman calligraphers. Useful book for my reference. I purchased this book in Istanbul in 2010 for TL150.
